Sr Scientist/Principal Scientist- Cell Product Assay Development

AIRM has a world-class R&D team, and is pursuing a diverse range of disease indications, ranging from macular degeneration (currently in clinical trials) and other ocular indications to vascular and autoimmune disease. AIRM's intellectual property portfolio includes pluripotent stem cell platforms -- both embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells as well as other cell based therapy research programs. AIRM is headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts.
We are seeking a highly motivated Sr Scientist/Principal Scientist
Essential Responsibilities:
Take leadership to plan and perform experiments for assay development of cell therapy products
Lead and manage research associate to meet business objectives and timeline
Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and conceive ideas/solutions to meet internal business objectives
Ensure acquisition of high-quality data by optimizing experimental and analytical procedures for cell culture and characterizations
Make detailed and accurate observations and analyses. Maintain accurate records in a well-organized manner.
Establish great communication and collaboration with internal and external stake holders
Requirements:
PhD with 5+ years or MS with 8+ years or BS with 12+ years of post-PhD laboratory experience in academia or industry
Proficiency in cell culture and cell characterization techniques such as flow cytometry, ICC, ELISA, qPCR etc.
Background/training in ocular, neuroscience, and/or stem cell field
Demonstrated experience in independent project planning and execution
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
Highly motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and an adept learner with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex problems and suggest process improvements
Excellent oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience in retinal field
Experience in assay development for drug, biologics, or cell product
Experience in bioinformatics analysis of transcriptomic data
