Astellas is announcing a Senior Lab Equipment Administrator opportunity at their Astellas Institute of Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.
The Senior Lab Equipment Administrator, reports to the Sr. Manager, Facilities, and manages the vendors, contracts, and financials related to specialized laboratory equipment and non-GMP building infrastructure. This individual will work with research staff to create and manage the inventory of laboratory equipment, will consolidate the equipment across all research areas, work and negotiate with vendors to create efficient and cost-effective maintenance contracts, utilize the AIRM computerized maintenance management system to track all maintenance and calibration events. This individual will also manage maintenance visits for the equipment working with the vendor, research staff, and the laboratory support personnel. Additionally, this person will perform similar functions for facilities building equipment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assemble and lead a team of stakeholders from applicable departments to develop and execute short and long-term plans for managing all non-GMP facilities and non-GMP specialized research equipment
Reduce process and procedural costs related to maintaining equipment
Reduce maintenance contract costs through consolidation of contracts
Track scheduled and reactive maintenance of equipment using the computerized maintenance management system
Create and maintain relationships with Legal, Facilities, Research, and Vendors to implement and execute the plan
Assist with building and laboratory projects as needed
Direct impact to Facilities, Research, and Technical Operations operating budgets
Direct impact to costs of contracts through strategic negotiations
Direct impact to Facilities, Research and Technical Operations objectives
Reports to the Sr. Manager, Facilities at AIRM
Partners with Facilities, Research, Technical Operations, and Legal to improve equipment management, contract management and to reduce costs related to contracts and maintenance
Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years laboratory management experience including vendor, equipment, and contract management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
4+ years' experience in a research setting including use of analytical equipment
Experience with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management System or equivalent
Experience with SAP Ariba procurement software
