Purpose & Scope:
Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Manager provides functional HR expertise within Astellas' growing US Research organization and is responsible for managing an array of human resources activities to ensure efficient support of business objectives.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Coaches managers and employees on employee life cycle topics - from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding.
Assists Director of HR with driving talent and performance management activities.
Works with leadership to proactively identify HR issues and supports creative solutions to support business needs.
Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application of policies.
Navigates ER matters and consults with Director of HR and legal as appropriate to assist managers with, and make recommendations for, appropriate actions (i.e. disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, etc.).
Supports assigned organizations with job descriptions, intiating requisition process, and interviewing and selection as needed in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
Reponsible for managing the separation process for the US Research population and responding to general HR inquiries.
Assists with submission of data changes and provides monthly reports to support data driven decision making.
Support people related process improvements within the US Research organization and for other duties and projects driven locally or company-wide.
Collaborates closely with other HR sub-divisions (Rewards, Talent, MIS, etc.) to ensure a One HR approach.
Other duties as assigned.
- This position reports into the Director of Human Resources, supporting an assigned organization.
Bachelor's degree with at least five-seven years of Human Resources experience required, preferably in the biotechnology/biopharma industry
Demonstrated Human Resources generalist knowledge with the ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritize deadlines, and the ability to influence without authority is required.
Ability to manage confidential information is imperative
Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills with a curious mindset
Travel requirements are negligible. May require occasional travel between Westborough, Mass. and Cambridge, Mass. post Covid
PHR certification preferred
