Astellas is announcing an Associate Director, Data Operations and Engineering opportunity in Northbrook, IL, or Remote, USA.

Purpose & Scope:

The Associate Director is responsible for coordinating and managing complex processes and projects, to support the advanced analytics initiatives. In addition, this professional will be responsible for working alongside distributed groups to meet the development, quality assurance and deployment needs. The Associate Director will also be the key point of contact for all data operations and data engineering solutions and processes. The professional will work as a strategic leader working alongside senior leadership to establish a road map outlining the technical vision.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all digital technology platforms such as CMS, DAM, Marketing Databases, Marketing Asset Management systems.
  • Manage and perform data operations and data engineering requirements including automation and optimization
  • Provide guidance surrounding program development and implementation.
  • Responsible for the technical strategy and delivery of all digital solutions in addition to providing technical support and administering applications
  • Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of Analytics solutions on cloud platforms
  • Assist in the selection of technology vendor including choice of platforms, definition of processes and staff mentorship and growth
  • Manage relationships with vendors and other external business partners
  • Must have strong experience managing large budgets and be responsible for all spend associated with those projects
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong background and interest in technology coupled with an understanding of analytics and data modeling
  • This person much be able to articulate and demonstrate their strategic and critical thinking abilities. Leading by influence and driving results.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing competing priorities

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Helps manages capital and expense budgets up to $25MUSD.
  • Manages a portfolio of projects related to one or more business units and owns one or more business aligned regional roadmap and strategy.
  • Manages 1-2 employees, 10-20 temp/contractors.

Organizational Context

The role will report into the Sr Director, TGI. This person will manage 1-2 direct reports and up to 10-15 contractors.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of executive experience delivering large scale technology solutions on a national and multi-national scale
  • 10+ years' experience working alongside business groups to develop and improve technical solutions
  • 5+ years in program management leading matrix teams on multi-year, multi-location software development initiatives
  • Experience creating and managing large budgets
  • Expert level knowledge and application of system development and project management processes and complex projects
  • Proven background working with marketing technologies and mobile application development
  • Must be willing to travel 20-40% of the time.

Preferred

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Managing AWS or equivalent Cloud services experience

Salary Range

  • $141,000 -- $188,000
