The Role
The Procurement Specialist will be a member of Lab Operations and Logistics team supporting the Gene Therapies Research and Pilot Plant facilities. This role will provide expert, consistent, and varied support to internal colleagues with a focus on sourcing and procurement.
Responsibilities
Leads purchase request creation, including identifying purchasing requirements and demand, researching supplier sources, preparing bid packages, gathering and compare quotes thru bid tabulations, and placing and monitoring requisitions like blanket orders, standing orders, etc.
Submits requests to onboard new suppliers, and facilitates legal and risk reviews, as needed.
Participates or leads supply planning with key stakeholders.
Collaborates with Global Procurement, Legal/Contracting, and Finance to ensure compliance to policy/procedures and to troubleshoot issues.
Drives resolution of discrepancies with suppliers (back orders, invoice reconciliation, returns, etc.)
Works independently on assigned projects, attends team meetings, documents support needs, and works to resolve those needs in a timely and effective manner.
Effectively identifies and tracks metrics; identifies and effects continuous improvement opportunities.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of arts or sciences with 6+ years of experience, or masters with 4+ years of experience
6+ years' experience in Procurement, preferably within Biotech or Pharmaceutical operations environment
Strong technical skills with purchasing systems (SAP Ariba system preferred) and documents (purchase requisition, purchase order, quote, contract/work order, invoice, etc.)
Strong attention to detail supported by excellent time management and organizational skills and meticulous follow up
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio)
Excellent communications skills (written/oral), ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across the organization.
Demonstrated proficiency in planning and organizing work efficiently, able to work under time constraints and be flexible to meet changing deadlines, using available resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project management at a biopharmaceutical company

Salary: $86,300-$115,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
