The Role

The Process Development Analytical Associate I/II will be responsible for supporting upstream and downstream vector/plasmid process development efforts by characterizing the process with multiple assays on a routine-bases. The job responsibilities may change over time as your performance and the needs of the Company evolve. This role will be located in South San Francisco.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performing key plasmid assays such as: DNA/RNA Gel Electrophoresis, MicroBCA, Endotoxin, residual ddPCR assays, Restriction Digest, and vector assays to support vector testing when needed

  • Review datasheets and reports

  • Data analysis, reporting and documenting results in a timely manner

  • Buffer and Solution preparation

  • Occasionally collaborate with PD subgroups

  • Sample inventory management

  • Maintaining and organizing lab space area

  • Collaborate on PDA-specific documents (FORMs and SOPs)

  • Assist in qualifying assays

  • Other duties as assigned

About you

Must Have/Required

  • BS degree in Biological Sciences plus a minimum of 0-2 years of experience as a research associate or equivalent within a biotech or pharmaceutical company

  • Proven experience in most techniques and assays listed

  • Meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrated experience of carefully recording methods and results

  • Proven and consistent work ethic; Self-directed; open to challenges with enthusiasm

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Outstanding collaboration, problem solving team player with excellent communication and organizational skills

May Have/Preferred

  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment

  • Familiar with GDP/GLP

  • Familiar with ddPCR platform

  • Familiar with Benchling or ELN equivalent

  • Familiar with QIAprep
