Universal Cells (UCI) is announcing a Research Associate II Core Technologies, Analytics opportunity at their facility in Seattle, WA .

Purpose:

We are seeking a highly capable, self-motivated Research Associate II for our Core Technologies Department. This individual will contribute to the further molecular engineering for our gene edited Universal Donor Cells. They will work as a key member on a fast-paced team to develop molecular and cellular assays to characterize our proprietary Universal Donor Cells.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Routinely executing standard molecular analytical assays including primer design and PCR/qPCR.

  • Routinely performing aseptic cell culture of pluripotent stems cells for general maintenance or experiment execution

  • Contributes to reagent and sample organization and inventory management systems

  • Completes experiments and gathers data in a systematic manner, utilizing strong multitasking and time management skills

  • Summarizing and presenting data in both oral and written formats.

  • Team player; collaborating effectively with various team members and other departments.

  • Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively to record experimental data

Organizational Context:

  • As part of a busy team, with minimal guidance, this role will work on multiple components of a project in the lab, interacting with multiple functions or research groups. Collaboration and teamwork is necessary for optimal performance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture

  • Experience routinely executing PCR/qPCR assays.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and think on your feet.

  • 2+ years of experience with BS degree in related scientific discipline

  • 0-2 years of experience with MS degree in related scientific discipline

Preferred:

  • Experience with pluripotent stem cell (PSC) culture

  • Experience using recombinant adeno-associated virus

  • Experience with liquid handlers/lab robotics

  • Experience with routinely executing 384 well qPCR assays

  • Experience managing and data mining databases

Salary Range:

  • $64,500 – $86k (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
