Purpose & Scope:

Astellas is announcing a Talent Acquisition Senior Manager opportunity. The role will be responsible for all talent acquisition activities for exempt and non-exempt level hires within Astellas US and its US affiliates.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Manages talent acquisition activities across the US enterprise with a focus on creating an exceptional candidate and client experience.

  • Manages talent acquisition activities across the US Astellas enterprise. This includes managing external vendors who support the talent acquisition process.

  • Ability to strategically design talent acquisition strategies to secure the best talent for Astellas.

  • Lead talent acquisition activities for expansions, reorganizations and restructures.

  • Ability to work with line managers at all levels, and assists them in developing plans to secure talent for their open positions.

  • Ability to manage external partners in the talent acquisition process such as: RPO's, research companies, external recruiters and, when needed, able to negotiate favorable pricing for Astellas searches.

  • Manage the recruiting process; able to identify areas of improvement and implement change.

  • Collaborate with internal HR partners in developing strategies to manage current and future headcount.

  • Ability to develop compensation offers based on current employee data and market trends.

  • Excellent team player with strong rapport skills, ability to style shift with various personality styles.

  • Experience in using and understanding talent acquisition metrics and the ability to implement strategies to improve results.

Quantitative Dimensions:

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this position is responsible for the Talent Acquisition needs of the organization across all Americans Region. This position delivers top talent to Astellas based on the needs of the business.

Organizational Context:

This position reports to the Director, Talent Acquisition. This position does not have direct reports but must be able to effectively coach and mentor colleagues in Talent Acquisition. This position provides support to clients and Senior Leadership across the organization.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or equivalent), and at least 5-7 years leadership experience in Staffing/Talent Acquisition within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies: high level of energy and commitment to accomplishing results; excellent leadership and project management; strong interpersonal communications and organizational savvy; and building strong teams.

  • Must have a strong talent acquisition background in pharmaceuticals, with demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Must have a generalist background with expertise in talent acquisition, including some knowledge of employee relations, compensation and benefits, etc.

  • Must have an absolute commitment to EEO/AA and Astellas' ethics policy.

  • Must be an expert in sourcing candidates, in defining requisite competencies, in interviewing skills, in using other screening resources (such as reference checks), in developing rapport with candidates and presenting a positive picture of the Astellas opportunity. Must have an understanding of the Astellas business in order to define competencies.

  • Must be able to train, influence and coach hiring managers & teams to improve the selection process.

  • Must be able to negotiate and close with job candidates including senior management job candidates.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business or Human Resources, or with a concentration in HR
