Purpose & Scope:

The Senior Product Manager, XOSPATA, (gilteritinib) will be a key member of the brand team with responsibility for building and performing the marketing strategy across multiple customer groups and channels including patients/caregiver, allied health professional, and congresses.

Core responsibilities include working with market research to develop deep customer insights around patients, caregivers, and AHPs, and developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans for working with each of these key partner groups. The individual will also be responsible for crafting health literacy focused disease and/or branded patient/caregiver awareness and education materials, supporting patient knowledge of and adherence to XOSPATA, developing a patient focused digital media strategy, and identifying and implementing critical allied health care professional tactics.

This role is also responsible for convention/congress planning for the entire XOSPATA business, including HCP, AHP, and patient conferences.

This person is responsible for detailed execution of promotional tactics working in close collaboration with internal and external partners, including the sales force, other members of the brand team, vendors, and multiple internal stakeholders across functions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Leads the development of innovative solutions for building education and awareness, as well as improving the acute myeloid leukemia and XOSPATA patient/caregiver experience Develop and implement marketing plans and critical initiatives to overcome business obstacles, drive market share, & achieve sales targets.

  2. Lead tactical execution of promotional strategy for patient and AHP marketing initiatives. Collaborate with external and internal partners. Measure efficiency on an ongoing basis and recommend & implement changes accordingly.

  3. Develop comprehensive congress annual plan for XOSPATA, and lead all execution of congress/convention presence.

  4. Serve as liaison with sales, operations and sales training in the implementation of patient and AHP marketing programs and convention planning, to support successful field sales efforts. Liason with Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy to ensure strategic alignment.

  5. Ensure that materials and programs are highly effective and compliant by owning projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process.

  6. Manage outside agencies in the following capacities: project estimate development, time management, and execution of project components, management recommendation and assuring consistency with Astellas goals, direction, and ethics.

  7. Track and lead detailed budget for responsible tactics

  8. Ensure all work is completed in an ethical and compliant manner.

Quantitative Dimensions:

Sales Budget: Directly impacted by the number of critical strategic objectives that are successfully addressed with appropriate and successfully performed tactical solutions

A and P Budget: Directly impacted by the efficient use of resources including: management of vendors, negotiation for services both internally and externally and monitoring of budget.

Organizational Context:

The successful candidate will lead the strategic and tactical patient/caregiver and allied health professional marketing plan by demonstrating insights and building successful relationships and meaningful collaboration across the organization. This position reports to the Director, Oncology Marketing. This position will not have any direct reports.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelors degree

  • 8 plus years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing, sales, sales training, market research, etc.).

  • Knowledge of oncology and/or past patient and/or AHP marketing experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a high level contributor or leader of a project, process or function.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and social skills

  • Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of marketing plans

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize

  • Demonstrates ability to influence peers and key team members within and outside the organization

  • Ability to present sophisticated issues to higher level management.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred

  • MBA degree

  • Proven track record in product management roles with demonstrated ability to drive performance or similar

  • Experience in hematology or oncology
