Purpose and Scope:
Senior Marketing Manager, Oncology Thought Leader Engagement for PADCEV will be a key member of the Oncology Franchise. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of key strategies, and execution of peer to peer and convention/congress initiatives to maximize the brand potential for patients and the franchise connection with customers.
This person is responsible for flawless execution of thought leader engagement, regional ad board coordination & execution, convention/congress planning (incl. HCP, AHP and patient) and detailed execution of promotional tactics working in close collaboration with partners, including: the sales force, brand team, the partner company, vendors, thought leaders, professional societies, among others. The successful individual will gather, synthesize and share insights from these customers that positively contribute to our understanding of the disease, market, and customers, resulting in new and improved commercial strategies and implementation of tactics that help us better serve people impacted by cancer.
Specific responsibilities will evolve based on the needs of the brand and franchise, lifecycle of the brand, and competencies required on specific projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
In collaboration with co-promote partner and internal stakeholders, develop a regional thought leader engagement strategy by identifying, profiling, and maintaining long-term relationships with current and emerging thought leaders
Lead tactical execution of peer-to-peer engagement via multiple channels. Develop, secure MLR approval for, and implement speaker decks and other materials in support of peer-to-peer educational informative programs. Identify, coach mentor and train speakers.
Develop custom engagement plans for each identified thought leader -- ensure strong coordination with co-promote partner and internal functions, including: sales, GPO, KAMs, Marketing, Executives
Lead planning and execution of commercial customer-focused activities at congresses, POAs, field visits, and other venues including the facilitation of meaningful connections between Astellas and thought leaders in a compliant manner (through receptions, small group meetings, 1:1 engagements, etc.)
Execute on regional commercial ad boards to gain actionable insights. Share insights learned with Marketing and other functions to create broad actionable plans
Contribute to Brand strategies by meeting with thought leaders to understand disease states, their beliefs, and unmet needs in the market and synthesizing/sharing insights internally that appropriately help Astellas better serve patients
Responsible for all Astellas SOPs regarding the quality submission and tracking for compliant engagements: contracting, Legal/ compliance approval for advisory boards, etc.
Track and manage detailed budget for responsible tactics
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Organizational Context:
This position reports to the Key Customer Marketing Lead and will work with their manager and similar roles at the co-promote partner to plan and execute work across the assigned job responsibilities. This position does not have any direct reports. The position requires a significant level of collaboration across numerous functions and external stakeholders in order to be successful and requires frequent contact and collaboration with influential customers and senior level internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree
8 plus years of related, relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry (marketing, sales, sales training, market research, medical, etc.)
Minimum 5 years experience in one or more of the following: marketing, sales, or medical/clinical experience in Oncology
Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to understand, integrate and synthesize insights across customers, competitors, and markets to inform business decisions
Demonstrated strong cross functional collaboration
Demonstrated ability to be a high level contributor or leader of a project, process or function
Self-starter with strong initiative and demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to problems or new opportunities
Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of marketing plans
Demonstrates ability to influence peers and stakeholders within and outside the organization
Ability to travel approximately 50%
Preferred
MBA or other related graduate level degree
Knowledge of and experience in Oncology and urothelial cancer
Deep knowledge and relationships with Oncology Thought Leaders and specifically within Urothelial carcinoma
Experience in thought leader management and key customer interactions
Experience executing advisory boards and leading marketing projects
Experience working in a partnership / co-promotion
