Astellas is announcing a Sr. Marketing Manager, Oncology Franchise opportunity in Northbrook, IL with opportunity to work remotely.
Purpose & Scope:
The Senior Marketing Manager, Oncology Franchise will be a key member of the Oncology Franchise Marketing team. The successful candidate will require strong subject matter expertise and collaboration across Oncology brand teams to identify and implement best practices to improve brand performance, especially in -- but not limited to -- the areas of franchise branding, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, omni-channel execution, and digital marketing. Provides strategic guidance on digital marketing strategy, including social media, for Astellas Oncology. This person is responsible for strategic development and flawless execution of the Oncology Franchise branding plan working in close collaboration with partners, including the sales force, other members of the brand teams, vendors, and a variety of internal stakeholders across functions including sales training, commercial operations, IT, market research, regulatory, legal, and medical affairs. Serves as primary contact with the Brand teams to support and enhance digital promotional activities and materials and to foster knowledge sharing
Specific responsibilities will evolve based on the evolution of the Oncology Franchise Marketing organization and competencies required on specific projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead strategic and tactical development of Oncology Franchise Marketing campaign to drive increased awareness of Astellas Oncology, positioning the company as a trusted partner in the Oncology market. Measure effectiveness on an ongoing basis and recommend & implement changes accordingly.
Lead strategic and tactical development of Digital Multichannel Marketing strategy, including social media. Partner with and across brand teams and other stakeholders on successful implementation of tactics. Continually seek opportunities to innovate and bring ideas to realization.
Contribute to the annual strategical and tactical plan for the Oncology Franchise.
Serves as the primary digital marketing partner with brand teams and collaborate closely with them to enhance marketing digital programs providing guidance and recommendation on the creation/deployment of digital tools for increased sales force productivity.
Play a lead role in continued implementation of marketing automation, CRM, and integration of data generated across all channels to inform strategy and tactics going forward.
Serve as liaison with sales, operations and IT in the implementation of digital and multi-channel marketing programs.
Manage outside agencies in tactical planning, project estimate development, time management, budgeting, and execution of projects
Track and manage detailed budget for responsible tactics.
Complete work in an ethical and compliant manner.
This position will directly impact both the strategic and tactical direction across the portfolio of Oncology brands, especially as it relates to digital marketing. It will also directly impact the A&P budget based on the efficient use of resources including management of vendors, negotiation for services both internally and externally and monitoring of budget effectiveness.
It will also indirectly contribute to the oncology brand sales by collaborating across brands to share and leverage best practices across Astellas.
This individual will report to the Director, Oncology Franchise Marketing. This position does not have any direct reports, but will need to fully develop working relationships with external partners and internal colleagues from other departments (including global, market research, legal, and regulatory). This position will have regular contact and collaboration with Senior Director and VP levels. This role requires high levels of collaboration for success and will need to be consistently demonstrated through the sharing of ideas that leads to creative solutions and successful implementation.
7 plus years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing with expertise in digital, sales, sales training, market research, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to be a high level contributor or leader of a project, process or function.
Highly motivated, self-starter with exceptional communication and relationship building skills, as well as someone who is flexible and agile
Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of business plans
Ability to present and discuss complex issues to higher level management
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrates ability to influence peers and key stakeholders within and outside the organization
Collaborative team player
Ability to travel up to 30%
MBA degree or other related graduate level degree
Digital marketing experience in pharma
Pharma CRM implementation experience
Proven track record in product management roles with demonstrated ability to drive performance with innovative tactics
