Purpose and Scope:
Unlock Framework and Early Stage Value Creation Framework (ESVCF) is new cross-functional mechanism, developed by Portfolio Strategy and Unlock VALUE CoE.
The Unlock Facilitator takes a facilitation role and promote the Unlock Framework and ESVCF, in order to uncover potential VALUE of science platforms or pre-CN programs by: assessing addressable target patient population, building expansion strategy, evaluating feasibility and risks from multiple perspective, and developing VALUE proposition.
The Unlock Facilitator supports the Leadership Team of PS and Research Affiliates in the decision-making process to proceed with platform development or to approve CN declaration of programs in preclinical stage.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate cross-functional team discussions for the Unlock Framework and ESVCF, to uncover potential VALUE of science platforms or pre-CN programs with representatives from Research, Development, PTech, Commercial, Corporate functions, etc.
Promote creation of Platform Development Plan through Unlock Framework in collaboration with representatives from relevant functions.
Develop Asset Profile and Value Creation Summary through ESVCF* in collaboration with representatives from relevant functions.
Assess addressable target patient population, feasibility and risks from development, manufacturing and commercialize perspective in collaboration with relevant functions.
Identify VALUE Proposition of science platforms or pre-CN programs.
Navigate teams to seek alternatives to expand potential VALUE of assessed platforms or programs, and to find countermeasures to overcome identified risks.
Support teams to propose platforms development plan or CN declaration of programs, and support decision making by the Leadership Team of PS and Research Affiliates.
Assess strategic fit of assessed platforms or programs within Astellas Portfolio and provide feedback on outcomes of Unlock Framework or ESVCF to Focus Area Strategy in order to update it in a timely manner.
Report the status of Unlock Framework or ESVCF to the Leadership Team of PS frequently and receive their suggestions when necessary.
Minimum 3 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Minimum 2 years' experience in leading or facilitating teams
Experience working in the context of a global organization, in a multi-cultural environment and leading through influence
Fundamental scientific and business knowledge to evaluate programs and incorporate the results into portfolio analysis
Collaborative skills - able to work cross-functionally and understand the needs of Research Functions, Development, PTech, Commercial divisions and Corporate functions
Ability to build strategic alignment across the organization through providing a strategic perspective and overall portfolio view.
Recognizes complex situations and uses multiple formal and informal methods to find solutions, including the ability to make independent assessments and decisions.
Ability to present complex issues to higher-level management and contribute to high level presentations and discussions.
Must be willing to travel as the job requires (up to 20%), including international travel.
