Purpose & Scope:

The Senior Manager Sustainability Management position is responsible for enhancing Astellas' Sustainability (SUS) advocacy to accelerate Strategic Goals and deepen our engagement in Sustainability. This position is taking a lead for important initiatives in collaboration with SUS strategy planning member and other internal partners to develop and crystallize SUS advocacy story and contents. Also, this position will communicate with external partners such as ESG evaluation institute and ESG investors to enhance the enterprise value.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Craft SUS advocacy story and contents in alignment with SUS strategy & direction

  • Develop and manage SUS reports

  • Deliver messages related to Astellas' SUS activities through the channels including SUS web section

  • Respond ESG questionnaires

  • Dialogue with internal and external partners including ESG investors

Qualifications: Required

  • BS or BA degree

  • English business communication (writing, speaking)

  • Excellent communication ability with cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Strong leadership abilities and proven ability of project management

  • Result oriented behavior and mindset

Qualifications: Preferred

  • Experience in Sustainability, ESG and Access to Health

  • Experience in Corporate Communications

  • Japanese business communication (reading, writing) for non-Japanese applicant

  • ESG investors network engagement

  • Experience in cross functional team/group management
