Purpose:

Responsible for the creation, negotiation, implementation, and performance of Specialty Pharmacy contracts for Oncology product(s). Build processing model, develop guidelines for reporting/analysis, collaborate with Health Systems account managers to monitor contract performance & terminate non-performing contracts. The incumbent will support the lifecycle of the Specialty Pharmacy contract, including: 1) Review, edit and propose contract language and amendments pertaining to data collection and measurement of key performance indicators (in collaboration with the account management team) with Specialty Pharmacies to minimize unfavorable business terms and risk to the company; 2) Collaborate with account managers to analyze contract compliance, take necessary actions to improve performance or terminate underperforming contracts; and 3) Responsible for all aspects of Specialty Pharmacy data, analytics, and reporting; ensuring the dissemination of accurate, reliable, timely, and actionable information to actively support and improve business decisions. Support efforts to monitor, identify, obtain and actively utilize quantitative information required to support corporate objectives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team in supporting data acquisition for the Specialty Pharmacy networks in support of Xtandi, Xospata and future oncology limited distribution products.

  • Author proposal development for Specialty Pharmacies in collaboration with MACC account management team. Obtain appropriate signoffs from Strategic Pricing Committee.

  • Taking the lead for assigned accounts, the Sr, Manager will review, edit and propose contract language and amendments pertaining to data collection and measurement of key performance indicators (in collaboration with the account management team) with Specialty Pharmacies to minimize unfavorable business terms and risk to the company. Proactively collaborates with Legal to ensure timely review of proposed changes in contract language.

  • Lead the analytical and reporting processes for all assigned Specialty Pharmacy data accounts to achieve organizational goals.

  • Business champion for technology solutions related to Specialty Pharmacy data and reporting. Interacts with Astellas Account Management team to understand current and future needs of data reporting.

  • Responsible for managing the data vendor to established SLAs and contract terms. Oversee the vendor to ensure timely and accurate deployment of new functionality with the hosted reporting tools.

  • Manage Specialty Pharmacy performance to all established key performance standards and report standings to leadership team on a monthly basis.

  • Lead cross-functional reporting processes that create mutual understanding of overall data parameters and certify deliverables for common objectives

  • Comprehend all available data sources, provide governance and standardization, and ensure best practice

  • Partner with stakeholders and Information Systems to implement and automate models into day-to-day business decision making

  • Manage product access eligibility for oncology products through approved distributors.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine Specialty Pharmacy reporting needs. Create and distribute Specialty Pharmacy dashboards

  • Manage contract data and reporting requirements to ensure data reporting adhere to contract terms and conditions

  • Accountable for all aspects of invoicing, budgeting and forecast updates related to Specialty Pharmacy data purchase.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Manages and overseas all Specialty Pharmacy data fees and data reporting

  • Point of contact for Specialty Pharmacies, including payer owned SP accounts.

  • Serves as a support resource overseeing all key processes, procedures, key strategic initiatives related to Specialty Pharmacy contracting and data management

Organizational Context:

  • Reports directly in to Director, Oncology Contracting & Analytics.

  • Cross functional leadership interaction across all areas of Astellas

  • Individual contributor with significant experience in leading both internal and external departments

Qualifications:

Required:

  • College degree in a business discipline with an MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 5-10 years prior experience in Specialty Pharmacy analysis and negotiations in a pharmaceutical industry.

  • Prior experience in reviewing & negotiating contracts, contracts analysis, financial modeling, planning & analysis is highly desirable

  • Ability to analyze/interpret contract language and identify risks to the company

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills; Qlikview is desirable

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service commitment, orientation to detail, ability to interact across all levels of management

  • Ability to work in: fast paced, cross-functional teams; make presentations & recommendations to senior management and leadership teams.
