Purpose & Scope:

Astellas is expanding its U.S. Marketing team to support the growth of PADCEV (enfortumab vedotin) in locally advanced/metastatic urothelial cancer.

The Senior Marketing Manager of Health Care Provider (HCP) Promotion will be a key member of the PADCEV brand team, serving as the Astellas lead in the development and implementation of key promotional materials for the sales force and non-personal channels.

This position is critical to PADCEV being able to achieve its brand objectives, requiring close collaboration with internal Astellas team members (e.g., Business Unit Leadership, Sales, Sales Training, Market Research, etc.), our commercialization partner Seagen, and our advertising agencies.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  1. Leads the end-to-end scoping, development, and execution of HCP-focused personal and non-personal promotional tactics to achieve brand strategies, objectives, and sales targets.

  2. Uses market, customer, and promotional effectiveness insights to identify and propose solutions to business obstacles.

  3. Interfaces as a key contact/liaison for the Sales Team ‒ including leading Product Team meetings to capture field input and feedback on promotional materials and meeting regularly with assigned Sales leaders.

  4. Serves as the Marketing point-of-contact for Sales Training on field direction, communications, and training needs.

  5. Collaborates with Patient and Allied Health Professional and Key Customer Marketers to identify opportunities for promotional synergies and an enhanced PADCEV customer experience.

  6. Ensures assigned projects are planned appropriately, completed on time, and within budget.

  7. Manages printed promotional material inventory and the deployment of digital resources.

  8. Contributes to the annual brand and tactical plan for HCP promotion.

  9. Partners with Astellas Franchise and other brand team Marketers to share best-practices.

  10. Demonstrates strong ethics, a growth-oriented mindset, the ability to influence without direct authority, and friendly demeanor aligned to Astellas and PADCEV-team culture.

Quantitative Dimensions:

This position will directly impact the performance for PADCEV including the achievement of sales forecast goals, market share targets, and other key performance indicators.

This role also directly impacts the Advertising & Promotional budget based on the efficient use of resources including management of vendors, negotiation for services, and monitoring of budget.

Organizational Context:

This individual will report to the Associate Director of HCP Marketing for PADCEV. This role has no direct reports. The position requires a significant level of internal collaboration across numerous functions (including senior leadership), external partners, and customers.



  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing, advertising, sales, sales training, market research, etc.).

  • Oncology or experience in a specialty field

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to proactively manage competing priorities

  • Strong written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence without direct authority

  • Ability to present and discuss complex issues to higher level management

  • Experience owning projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process, preferably for a partnered product

  • Ability to travel up to 30%


  • Experience working at pharmaceutical advertising or media agency

  • Pharmaceutical sales experience

  • Experience working in a partnership / co-promotion

  • Experience in support of a launch

  • MBA degree or other related graduate-level degree
