Purpose & Scope:

This Senior Manager role is a member of the Commercial and Corporate Partner team within Information Systems supporting global users/employees and specifically supports Patient Centricity business unit. Leads one or more related applications and the services and support related to it, initiating and maintaining relationships with business for developing an application roadmap that supports the business needs. Assists in allocating resources and managing demand, employees and/or third-party vendor resources.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Understands & Translates:

  • Understand customer needs and capture product requirements to develop new products and enhance existing products

  • Critiques business needs to achieve strategy alignment and assists with defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap

  • Details business requirements into product features with wireframes/page specs as applicable, translating them into test scripts and execution of UAT

Champions Customer Needs:

  • Acts as the business advocate and articulates the end-customer's needs (Patients in this instance) and aligns with the direction set out by the Patient Centricity Tower Lead

  • Leads efforts to socialize domain/platform information. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies and/or relevant conferences

Innovates and Delivers:

  • Runs POC/pilot programs during discovery with a continuous loop into business to validate expectations and benefits realization. May also lead scrum meetings

  • Develops business case, provides market recommendation, leads in product selection and builds a product roadmap

  • Execute delivery vs. the roadmap, including owning key workstreams, land new features, learn and iterate, scale

  • Engage and work closely with the engineering team to help resolve the best technical implementation methods, as well as reasonable development schedule

  • Oversee vendors, contractors and service teams to deliver contracted services and meet service expectations

  • Responsible for leading and monitoring application project delivery, using established PMO methodologies. Provides updates and advocacy to IT and business partners

Provides Insights:

  • Accomplishes financial objectives by determining application service level required; assisting in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action

Educate / Lead by Example

  • Adopt and inject good practices and to continuously improving Astellas ways of working in partnership with other IS teams and with partner groups across function

Quantitative Dimensions:

May lead contractors and outsourcing resources as needed.

  • Financials: Approximately $1-5M investment budget per year

  • Internal Clients: Patient Centricity Team, Patient Experience Team, Global Employees, external partners including patients and HCPs

  • Coordinates a portfolio of projects related to client area and publishes a three-year roadmap

  • Working with senior leaders (VP and above) in all global regions and senior external partners

  • Leads multiple global, regional and local vendors

Organizational Context:

  • This role reports to a Director in the CCP IS Organization

Qualifications:

Required

  • Experience working in a healthcare related organization (Pharma/Provider, etc.)

  • Experience in a product management.

  • Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy and design discussions.

  • Experience working on enterprise products in a regulated space.

  • Knowledge of ideation and agile delivery processes

  • Knowledge of Digital Technology in Pharma

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with demonstrated progress in managing projects/products of increasing size and complexities, working with related data sets, integration methodology and support approaches, can establish and measure critical metrics and benchmarks

  • 5+ years of leading employees, vendors and managed service providers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required

  • Translate between technical requirements and business requirements to effectively achieve results

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent experience required with an advanced degree or certification(s) preferred

  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to change, delay and or shifting priorities and goals

  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to purposefully drive project landmarks to successful completion

Preferred

  • Work experience across multiple cultures and countries / regions is a plus

  • Experience of having played a key role in injecting a product culture into a large corporate, winning hearts and minds and leading by example

  • 5+ years' experience with a healthcare specific application

  • Solutions Architect
