Purpose and Scope:

The Sr Manager EDM will manage the implementation of Enterprise Master Data and Governance program within global finance. This role will be accountable for overall governance within the EMDP including budget, change management, risk, KPI development and measurement and lifecycle management. The chosen candidate will be responsible to manage governance for all finance master data as well as suppliers and customers within the SAP platform.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage implementation of the GBS EDM data governance program.

  • Communicate program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders

  • Manage program budget, schedule and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with the data owners, stewards, information security, privacy, and Technology leadership teams to establish data policies, processes, and standards.

  • Drive the development and implementation of the SAP Master Data technology roadmap to maximize efficiency with the utilization of advanced technology such as MDG, SAC as well as process automation.

  • Establish robust data governance built on data quality, compliance, privacy, security and lifecycle management.

  • Establish and govern an implementation roadmap and framework by including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities, with a focus on improvement of data quality standards/principles/metrics/processes and data architecture.

  • Develop KPIs and provide periodic updates to senior management.

  • Responsible for developing metrics to track, demonstrate, and expand compliant data use.

  • Establish data quality standards in partnership with data leads, identify quality risks and issues and coordinate remedial action plans.

  • Develop and deliver status updates on data quality across the SAP platform by creating a dashboard in partnership with data leads, business data owners and business data SMEs.

  • Develop SLAs in partnership with global process owners and business owners to deliver high quality data maintenance outcomes.

  • Manage and own master data solution documentation; ensure the documentation is current.

  • Coordinate all RFP activities with regards to Master Data Management and third-party requirements including business case development, collaboration with procurement, legal, IS and data privacy functions as necessary.

  • Partner with business data stewards, technology architects and program managers across other business functions such as HR, IT, Supply Chain, Security to drive solutions across the SAP enterprise platform.

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of SAP data quality adoption across the enterprise.

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of company's principal data assets within SAP.

  • Coordinate with Privacy, Legal, Quality, Compliance, Records and Information Management and enterprise data governance teams to ensure alignment with the priorities and improvements needed for success.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Responsible for budget, planning, change management, Risk, KPI development and measurement on the GBS data governance program.

  • Periodic reporting of data quality assessments, technology roadmap progress and governance status to management.

Organizational Context:

  • The position reports directly to the Senior Director, EDM, GBS.

  • Pursue self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information and knowledge with co-workers and various business functions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or other Technology field.

  • 5+ years of Ariba, SAP S4 Finance, SAP MDG or SAP Finance.

  • 2+ years' experience in operations management, project management, or master data management.

  • Solid grasp of Data Governance principles, supporting technology and implementation models

  • Demonstrable ability to influence leaders and team members outside of the direct organizational relationship

  • Demonstrated strength in project management

  • Excellent communication skills including effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Experience interacting with executive leadership.

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Strong presentation, spreadsheet and word processing skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced program environment.

  • Ability to balance work with multiple cultures and multiple time zones.

Preferred

  • 1 year of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management or Data Analysis

  • 1+ years' experience in pharmaceutical industry.

  • End-to-end knowledge of finance process (fixed asset accounting, budgeting, project systems, treasury, product costing, internal orders, Accounts receivable and payable, etc.)
