Purpose and Scope:
This position will be responsible for sales forecasting for assigned products. This will require close collaboration with Brand Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Contracts & Pricing and Management.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Leads the process of maintaining / developing sales forecast models for all assigned products.
Partners with Brand Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Contracts & Pricing and Management to ensure forecast models are properly capturing the correct input variables and producing the optimal outputs.
Works collaboratively with Supply Chain, Contracts and Pricing, Finance, Marketing and Incentive Compensation to ensure that each cross-functional partner receives forecast deliverables in an accurate, meaningful and timely manner.
Presents forecasts and analyses to all levels of Management from Product Managers to BU Leadership. Ensures organizational understanding of forecast assumption through clear, logical and concise communication.
Autonomously addresses and resolves complex issues with internal customers under limited supervision.
Other Commercial Finance responsibilities may include, but are not limited: sales reporting lead, distribution channel inventory reporting, coordination with Predictive Analytical Model sales forecasting team, BPC/ relational data base lead for sales forecasting and analyses.
This position will have direct financial impact on financial forecasting activities and be directly responsible for sales forecasts in excess of at least $500M. The position will have direct financial impact on sales forecast accuracy, Astellas financial performance and incentive compensation.
This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Commercial Finance US. The Senior Director, Commercial Finance US reports directly to the Exec Director, Commercial Finance US.
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
5-7+ years previous finance and accounting experience.
Proven strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with previous sales forecasting, channel forecasting or market research experience.
Strong computer skills with required proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.
MBA degree or CPA certification a plus .
Experience working on financial reporting systems such as BPC, Hyperion, or TM1.
