Astellas is announcing a Marketing Manager - CV opportunity in Northbrook, IL.
Purpose & Scope:
Lead marketing engagement with cross functional colleagues and external vendors to provide brand leaders with a complete assessment of market insights for each assigned brand. Coordinate tactical plan development in association with Brand Management's development of strategic direction. Conduct the implementation of tactics that fulfill strategic success factors for assigned brands utilizing internal and external resources.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Conduct the tactical brand plan by: organizing initiative timelines, recommending marketing programs, guiding the prioritization of project and process workload.
Organize the development and review of marketing/sales materials (MAP).
Establish project metrics to gain insight for future action.
Contribute to the Situation Analysis to ensure that critical factors identified by franchise directors are included.
Review changes in the healthcare environment that may require the inclusion of data and brand consequences by franchise directors in the strategic decision process.
Collaborate with cross functional departments (including sales) to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and recommend new stakeholders for development.
Supervise the development of convention plans.
Implement other support functions as assigned by marketing director.
Sales Budget: Directly impacted by Tactical implementation and creative solutions toward implementation.
A and P Budget: Directly impacted by the efficient use of resources including vendors, negotiation for services both internally and externally and monitoring of budget.
Organizational Context:This is the "next step" in the career of a marketer in which added responsibilities for tactical plan development and implementation are foremost. This position continues to more fully develop working relationships with external partners and internal colleagues from other departments (including, and certainly not limited to, sales, market research, legal and regulatory). With the added responsibilities for tactical plan development and implementation, this position will become more involved with and need to understand more fully the strategic choices made by Brand Management. This role requires collaboration for success and demonstrates it directly by the coordination of individuals to follow the strategic plan to implement successful and supportive tactics. This position may report to an Associate or Director Marketing and will collaborate with colleagues from a variety of departments.
7 plus years of related, relevant experience (i.e., sales, sales training, market research, marketing operations, etc.).
This level also requires 1 to 2 years of general marketing experience or equivalent education.
Demonstrated ability to be a high level contributor or leader of a project, process or function.
Ability to converse with professionals about the disease state and/or product category assigned to.
Willingness to travel (10% to 20%).
Strong experience in the disease state or product category to which assigned.
Specialized training in the specific assigned area is a big plus.* 2 plus years of pharmaceutical marketing experience or specialized education in pharmaceutical tactical and strategic planning.
