Purpose and Scope:
The Inventory and Intercompany Manager is responsible for Inventory, Supply Chain, and Intercompany Accounting, including cost allocations and Intellectual Property (IP) holder Accounting. This position supports the standard costing and intercompany transfer pricing processes across multiple regions. This position collaborates with Astellas Tax, IP Holder and Affiliate entities globally to support Tax and transfer pricing compliance. This position prepares financial footnote and disclosures to support group level reporting to Astellas Pharma Inc. (Japan) parent company and is responsible for all associated controls. This position will oversee direct reports within Astellas as well as indirect reports at Astellas' Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Maintaining the SAP Cost Objects Structure to ensure costs are properly captured and charged to the responsible IP holding entity
Maintaining and overseeing the execution of inter/intra-company assessment cycles and associated invoicing in accordance with intercompany Transfer Pricing Agreements
Analysing product profitability and gross margin for intercompany transactions (transfer pricing margins, IP holder margins, contract manufacturing, contract revenue) and performing true-up adjustments to align with Transfer Pricing Policy
Leading statutory planning and forecasting for regional tax planning and compliance
Overseeing timely and accurate intercompany balance confirmation and dispute resolution process with international affiliates and BPO colleagues
Overseeing domestic and international intercompany netting
Supporting Inventory and Supply Chain accounting, VAT reporting, reconciliations, and analysis, including 3PL reconciliations and controls
Performing inventory revaluation as required and accounting for standard to standard and actual to standard variances, such as purchase price variance
Reviewing and resolving balance sheet risks and opportunities identified through the reconciliation process.
Working with internal and external auditors for Controls Reviews, PBC requests and other inquiries as needed
Identifying and supporting the implementation of process improvement initiatives
Developing, monitoring, and maintaining key metrics and reporting
Performing special projects as required

Qualifications
Required
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS principles
English (business and conversational)
5-7+ years of experience in relevant field
Intercompany accounting experience in a multi-national organization that includes transfer pricing, inventory accounting, and month-end close activities
Experienced with a close process, building, and maintaining allocation models, intercompany billing, reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
Experienced with implementing and administering technology solutions such as SAP S/4 Hana, BPC and other supporting tools and programs
Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and transfer pricing concepts and requirements
Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and demands on time
Proven history of building and maintaining relationships across various levels of management to help drive collaborative business decisions
Ability to positively confront issues and resolve conflict with sound judgment
Proven ability to work both individually and within a team environment, build strong relationships and maintain rapport with subordinates, peers, and Finance and SCM leadership teams.
Financial Systems proficiency, including SAP S/4 Hana and BPC or equivalent, as well as MS Office Suite of programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to succinctly convey relevant information across multiple levels of the organization and confidently project a professional image that fosters relationship building and collaboration.
Preferred
- Advanced professional certification or MBA or MS in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
