Purpose:
The Manager, Payer Analytics and Information Management ensures that the various analytical needs of Market Access & Commercial Capabilities are met. This role is responsible for performing advanced analytics and presenting results, business insights, and actionable recommendations to support Astellas Payer Formulary. One of the main areas this role supports is enhancements to Payer Data to optimize utilization by commercial teams. This includes running simulations when changes are proposed to see what their impacts would be (e.g., simulating a business rule change, or a data-mapping change). This role is expected to contribute to the strategy and identification of these enhancements based on end-user needs. His/her functional responsibilities include conducting data analyses to better understand payer and customer behaviors, measure market impact, and identify trends. Additionally, areas of responsibility include generating ad hoc analyses, streamlining report generation & quality control checks, and building dashboards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Partner with commercial teams to understand and document ever-evolving needs and convert them into business rule updates or reports.
Becoming a subject matter expert on business rules applied to data before it reaches any reporting layers.
Consult with payer colleagues on business questions and lead development of analytical frameworks to provide actionable insights and business guidance.
Collaborate on development of advanced analytical tools across multiple therapeutic areas to advance understanding of payer formulary and assess access opportunities and threats for key brands.
Experience utilizing SQL and Qlik to pull and analyze data.
Provide support and development on recurring reports and generate them when needed
Prioritize own workstreams to hit agreed upon timelines and to provide the most value to commercial teams.
Identifying areas for improvement in Payer Data analytics.
Explore and propose use of new datasets and methodologies. Identifies and realizes opportunities for automation and other efficiencies.
Exhibit analytical rigor in the valuation of business opportunities and the quantification of risk.

Reports to Associate Director, Data and Formulary Governance.
This position requires extensive cross-functional collaboration within Data Enablement and Commercial Operations, as well as with colleagues in Finance and Information Systems (IS).
Key internal customers include the Contracts and Pricing team, the Market Access Strategy team, the Value Strategy and Access Solutions team, brand teams, and the many salesforces for individual product types
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or managed markets space
Experience with patient-level data (claims) like IQVIA and/or Source Healthcare Analytics.
Technical Skills with SQL, SAS and/or R, MS Excel, and Power Point
Experience with visualization tools like Qlik View/Qlik Sense and/or Tableau
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to details, and the ability to multi-task.
Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills and ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
Ability to act with a sense of urgency while being flexible and responsive to changing business priorities.
Experience working in Market Access.
Demonstrated ability in taking initiative to proactively evaluate existing strategies and recommend changes, when appropriate.
Preferred:
Knowledge of and experience with evaluating various payer channels (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) and benefit design/formulary analysis and strategy development.
Familiarity with Formulary landscape.
Knowledge of sales data sources (e.g., Symphony Health IDV, MMIT) and a general understanding of health insurance claims data sources.
Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas a strong asset.
