M&D Strategy and Operations is a leader in aligning functions across M&D organizations in areas with impact on quality management, process management; non-drug initiative management, including IT components, to support business strategy; business information and reporting and analytics; resource management and learning & development. As a Learning Solutions Manager, this position will be responsible for providing support for learning and change solution projects within M&D that support the business strategy, under direct supervision of a Learning Solutions lead, through collaborative partnerships with stakeholders. These projects are aligned with cross-functional needs, process improvement projects, and the M&D Learning Strategy.

The position is responsible for executing the creation and deployment of learning deliverables and curricula as identified in collaboration with the Learning Solutions Lead and the business to ensure risk-managed solutions are implemented in a timely manner to support regulatory needs and enhance end user knowledge and skills.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Learning/ Change Solutions Strategy

  • Design, develop, and manage learning solutions in multiple modalities (eg. Virtual, Classroom and eLearning modalities) in collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • Partner with other groups within the MDSO organization to support cross-functional projects.

  • Provide clear and concise communications to support project and training implementations that impact business colleagues and key stakeholders.

  • Executes the development of functional training, including training materials, based on training needs analysis and training effectiveness assessments in collaboration with SMEs and senior Learning Solutions members and/or learning solutions vendor(s).

  • Support the development of change enablement solutions identified by or in consultation with Learning Solutions lead.

Learning Operations

  • Communicate learning metrics for training compliance, learning effectiveness and learning solutions operations, as appropriate

  • Execute the implementation of the M&D Learning strategy, aligned to current priorities and projects.

  • Collaborate with LMS colleagues to ensure all training records are in adherence with applicable regulations and are inspection ready and provide training documentation/evidence in support of global and regional audits/inspections, as appropriate.

  • Supports global implementation of tools, processes and procedures for maintenance of M&D curricula assignments; ensuring assignments are relevant and appropriate.

  • Participate in workstreams related to training, change enablement and ongoing governance initiatives, as assigned.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Supports Learning Solutions projects for functional projects and cross-functional projects under supervision of a senior member of learning solutions team.

  • Collaborate with training administrators to deliver training related reporting to Leadership, including LMS compliance reporting for quality procedures.

Organizational Context:

  • Reports to the Associate Director OR Director, Learning Solutions and operates in a matrix manner of leading and influencing without direct authority to effectively work with functional, cross-functional and cross divisional key stakeholders.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences.

  • Minimum 4 years in pharmaceutical or related industry experience in a regulated environment required.

  • Project management experience, preferably in a highly matrixed, multicultural global setting

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English, with an ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet timelines that may require a flexible work schedule.

  • Experience with corporate training (adult learning concepts and contemporary training methodologies. preferred), IT systems, and online training program functionalities.

  • Demonstrated high level of competence with MS Office applications and ability to learn new systems and software rapidly.

  • Demonstrated competence with eLearning development tools, Articulate Storyline and/or Vyond preferred.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to resolve project issues independently.


  • Advanced degree (MA and/or PhD or related degree) preferred.
