Purpose & Scope:
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of data for all therapeutic areas to all internal and external customers for sales reporting and compensation purposes. Partner with Data Management colleagues to enhance data quality, automation and create guidelines on data access and utilization. Develop and maintain process documentation. Oversee direct reports that serve as the primary point of contact for escalating and resolving all data issues. Oversee the assurance that Sales Reporting data is closely aligned with Incentive Compensation and Goal Setting, where possible. Play a critical role in the exploration of sales reporting platforms to meet the needs of the Field Sales Forces. Act as liaison between Commercial and DigX to ensure appropriate data processes and documentation are put in place and adapt apropriately to new DigX working model to ensure timeslines and milestones are met successfully.
This role includes 5 direct Astellas reports and vendor management oversight for various third party data suppliers and aggregator. Will need to have extensive product and data knowledge of all therapeutic areas and oversight of all day-to-day operational processes to best serve commercial data consumers. This successful lead will be accountable for defining and maintaining standards and processes to operationalize data enablement across the business. Will oversee the team that develops and maintains the highest levels of data competency, accuracy standards and reporting capacity across the commercial organization. Responsibilities include training, performance measures and budget for vendors and people development for direct reports. This person will work closely with Sales, Marketing, DigitalX, Legal, Compliance and other functional areas to maintain and improve our current processes and procedures.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate data capture from Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors and GPOs to data aggregator and from Data Aggregator to Astellas for appropriate markets.
Develop Data Integrity Controls to ensure variances/exceptions are communicated to Brand and Sales leadership. Automate controls for all reporting data feeds, ensure all exceptions to the business rules are investigated and resolved prior to data reporting and reporting timeline is met.
Document all recurring operational processes. Determine and maintain living document of validations. Assist in the maintenance and processing of non-retail , retail and oncology data.4. Responsible for Data Analysis, Exchange and Reporting for key therapeutic areas. Act as point of contact for third party vendors.
Take lead on identifying potential data redundancies and data flow issues; provide recommendations on potential solutions and execute when necessary in order to streamline Data Enablement Processes
Subject Matter Expert for all therapeutic areas in regards to data. Strong understanding of pipeline products in order to proactively understand future data needs.
Conduct ongoing evaluation of available data sources for potential purchase and integration with existing data, e.g., specialty distributors and pharmacies. Manage external relationships with vendors, consultants and commercial partners to achieve business objectives.
Collaborate with other Data Enablement & DigX leads to further explore QC validations and process/platform improvement to build the integrity of our data quality
Quantitative Dimensions:
• Oversee the validation of data for Monthly IC crediting and quarterly goal setting files for all therapeutic markets. Deliver data feeds on or before scheduled date and error free. • Oversee the validation of data for weekly iFocus Optima reports for all therapeutic markets. Deliver reports on or before scheduled date and error free.
• Maintain current business rule applications, update when necessary and communicate to appropriate parties that utilize the data.
• Accuracy and timeliness of quarterly cycle operations process to each sales team• Quality of timeless of operations support for and sales teams
• SLA achievement, monthly metrics
• Ability to meet/exceed established key milestones related to assigned major projects.
• Quality/timeliness of insight generation and development of actionable recommendations
Organizational Context:
Reports to Head, Data Enablement & Field Technology
This position requires close collaboration with internal cross functional departments within Commercial Operations. Needs to be able to identify and fulfill data needs across the organization. 5 direct reports.
Qualifications:
Required
Extensive computer proficiency with desktop software in a Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Qlikview & Qliksense.
Strong interpersonal skillswith the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior management and utilize creativity and ingenuity to influence and motivate others to follow a plan of action.
Team oriented with the ability to work independently in a dynamic fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Proven tarck record of strong people development skills
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects.
Minimum 5 years of analytical experience that includes data analysis and reporting within the pharmaceutical or healthcare related industry.
Strong working knowledge of data sources, e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health, Definitive
Health,Veeva Open Data, etc.
Experience with business analytics and insights tools and related database management solutions.
Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical or related business experience.
Working knowledge of various Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools and their application.
Excellent skills in the following areas: organization, written and verbal communication, accuracy, multitasking, strategic orientation and personal initiative.
Bachelor’s Degree in business related field
Prior management experience required
Preferred
• Extensive knowledge of sales data sources, e.g. Symphony Health IDV and IQVIA Xponent®, and a general understanding of health insurance claims data source.
