Purpose and Scope:
Under the Head of Risk Management’s and Head of Resilience Management’s direction, to provide support to Astellas’ Corporate Risk Management programs.
This position is responsible for managing and supporting a broad range of programs regionally and globally with the purpose to identify and mitigate risk and extensively support the alignment efforts of these programs. The incumbent will support the Head of Risk Management and Head of Resilience Management in senior and strategic matters related to the direction of the function. The incumbent will primarily support and focus on the following organizational units and divisions:
Japan Commercial
Pharmaceutical Technology
Research
Global Risk Management Cycle
Other units and divisions as delegated to by the Head of Risk Management
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Compliance
Embed Compliance Culture across all Regions of the business ensuring Integrity in Action is actively applied in all initiatives.
Ensure Corporate Risk Management Function(s) strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by example and appropriately challenging non-compliance.
Ensure adherence to Astellas policies relating to Ethics and Compliance standards and interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) and Patient Organizations (POs).
Core Tasks
Manages and supports the integrated Corporate Risk Management (CRM) programs such as Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity & Crisis / Incident Management
Responsibility to operate and support the Enterprise Risk Management program including but not limited to stakeholder interviews, review and assistance in development of risk mitigation plans, follow-up activities, reporting and the management or support of the Divisional Risk and Resilience Committee for the delegated areas of responsibility.
Operationally manages the Global Enterprise Risk Management cycle in close collaboration with other CRM Business Partners.
Accountability for accuracy and integrity of risk registers and reporting data in the central data repository
Supports on initiatives and regular operation of global and divisional Risk Management programs
Responsibility to manage and operate the Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs including but not limited to support crisis response planning, monitoring, and gathering crisis and incident matters, conducting Business Impact analysis, establishing Business Continuity planning and monitoring Business Continuity Management Activities for the delegated areas of responsibility.
Lead role to manage and operate Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs for all relevant facilities in collaboration with the relevant divisional Corporate Risk Management Business Partner
Establish rapport and a positive working relationship with individuals of other functions entrusted with risk management responsibilities regionally and globally
Ambassador and leading contributor for the Astellas Combined Assurance Network (ACAN) cross functional working group.
Collaborates efficiently and effectively with individuals within the relevant region and globally; supports or facilitates governance activities as required.
Work with Internal Audit and Financial Compliance to satisfy internal and external audit requirements including J-SOX controls
Leads and supports strategic projects as required and directed by the Head of Risk Management
Support the Head of Risk Management and Head of Resilience Management related to conducting business with division leaders and other senior individuals in the organisation.
Manages consultancy resources effectively and efficiently
Performs job duties with minimal direction
Other such duties as may be reasonably required by the business.

Qualifications
Required
Business degree
At least eight years of experience related to Enterprise Risk Management, four of which need to be in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.
In-depth experience in implementing, transforming, and managing Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs
Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organizational and collaboration skills
Demonstrable examples of ability to develop, coach and enable high performance teams and proactively promote best practice and knowledge sharing.
Willing and able to undertake International travel (including staying away)
Proven ability to influence, (appropriately) challenge and engage diverse senior stakeholders.
Substantial experience in complex multi-country/region matrix structures with high degree of geo-complexity
Experience in cross-functional assurance collaboration projects and working groups
Knowledge and understanding of key business and compliance issues within pharma and life science industry
Hands-on, cross-cultural experience
Experience in leading multi-functional, cross-cultural projects
Excellent understanding of risk management and internal control and well-developed commercial awareness
Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
Fluent in written and verbal Japanese and business English
Preferred
Fluent in written and verbal Japanese and business English
Post graduate qualification such as MBA or equivalent is highly desirable.
Experience in managing Enterprise Risk Management implementation and transformation projects
Proficiency in other relevant languages
