Purpose:

The Director of Omnichannel Marketing Excellence is a core member of a team that is responsible for elevating Astellas marketing capabilities globally to support achievement of best-in-pharma omnichannel marketing approaches and driving innovative and effective channel utilization. The scope of this role will span across regions and geographies and require the ability to embed capabilities and enhance channel utilization across the commercial teams and in markets.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages relationships and governance with senior stakeholders to ensure we are continually listening to and aligning with the voice of the business

  • Helps set strategic direction for Omnichannel Marketing capabilities and skills development and ensures they are aligned with strategic business objectives

  • Oversees development and delivery of engaging, memorable, and cost-effective learner journeys that drive positive and sustained behavior change for Astellas marketers globally

  • Aligns marketing training to organizational needs based on Astellas’ Omnichannel strategy, Commercial Divisions brand and go-to-market strategies

  • Engages with Omnichannel Strategy and Operations as well as the broader commercial organization and cross-functional partners to identify areas of improvement related to development and execution of brand strategies and operational plans

  • Develops and introduces industry best practices to support building and excelling in key transformational marketing capabilities, ensuring best in class performance

  • Partners with other Centers of Excellence in CLD to ensure appropriate training and tools are available to commercial field team members throughout the product life cycle

  • Works across functions and geographies to develop common understanding of omnichannel approaches, tools, and benefits

  • Tracks evolving content strategies and capability across industry, including innovation trends to define best practices and inform content evolution roadmap for application and continuous improvement at Astellas

  • Reports to Senior Director, Omnichannel Marketing Excellence

  • Peer group: Director Field & Launch Excellence, Associate Director Therapy Area and Product Training, Associate Director Learning Solutions and Global CRM Training, Director Strategy & CLD Excellence.

  • Scope: Support to whole organization

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and/or multinational corporation with global operations and local footprint

  • Demonstrated experience in foundational marketing processes such as segmentation and positioning

  • Significant content strategy, operations, and/or brand marketing experience ideally including digital strategy, digital marketing, and other omnichannel and content delivery roles

  • Communication and presentation skills including the ability to influence and manage senior leaders and other key stakeholders

  • Proven decision-making and strategic thinking skills leading to successful outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with team members, management and internal/external partners

  • Exceptional process and project management skills

  • Astute, proactive and self-starter with very strong interpersonal skills

  • Accustomed to managing a diverse and rapidly changing workload, delivering projects across several teams, functions, timelines simultaneously and within a matrix structure

  • Demonstrated ability to be a consistent high-level contributor or leader of multiple projects, processes, or functions

  • Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams to deliver against common goals

  • Demonstrated experience influencing without authority

  • Proven track record of success being a high-level independent and team contributor to lead multiple project and processes

  • Experience working with teams / individuals with varied cultural backgrounds & learning styles

  • Willingness to travel
