Astellas is announcing an Associate Sales Training Manager -- Oncology opportunity in Northbrook, IL, or can be field-based.

Purpose & Scope:

The Associate Sales Training Manager - Oncology position is responsible for designing and delivering core product training courses as required by Sales and Marketing Management. One component of the role is field implementation and follow-up of the core product training by working with individual representatives on field contacts. This position will also support other non-product training initiatives for managers and representatives. Significant interaction with the Brand Marketing team, Health Systems team, field sales force, and Regional Sales Managers to continually identify important and strategic training opportunities that will ultimately impact sales results.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and facilitate new hire training classes and support product launches

  • Develop and execute sales training workshops at POA, National Sales Meetings, and product launches

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the sales pieces, clinical studies, disease state, products, technology, business acumen and competition within your functional area of expertise.

  • Required to coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments in Northbrook, including but not limited to: Marketing, Medical Information, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Scientific Affairs, Operations, Human Resources and Health Systems.

  • Field Sales is our main customer and highly effective teamwork is required in our interactions with Senior SDs, ASDs, RSMs and Sales Representatives.

Quantitative Dimensions:

This role will indirectly impact the overall operational Sales Training budget.

Organizational Context:

This Associate Sales Training Manager - Oncology role will report to the Associate Director Oncology Sales Training, who will oversee position responsibilities and will provide feedback and development. This Associate Sales Training Manager - Oncology role will not have direct reports but rather will train the Field Sales Organization. In this role, the employee relies on collaboration for success and demonstrates it directly by the implementation of tactics that support the strategic plans.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2 + years Direct sales to oncology required

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. This experience would be one or a combination of: proven track record of sales results in oncology marketplace, demonstrated success in facilitation of sales training classes, and expertise in adult learning curriculum design

  • Must have proven record of excellence in competencies of business acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and peer leadership

  • Four year college degree.

  • Previous experience in Sales Training or selling in the Hematology and/or Prostate Cancer Market.

  • Location: this position can be Home Office-based in Northbrook, IL, relocation available, or Field-Based with a travel requirement of 50% travel.

  • Exact position title will be determined commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the incumbent

Preferred:

  • Experience in planning and executing training activities for product launch

  • Sales experience in Oncology related fields (Prostate, Hematology, AML, Chemotherapeutic, etc.)

  • Sales training, drug launch, project management experience
