Purpose:
This role is primarily responsible for Payer Formulary & pull-through support. This includes Payer policy and formulary monitoring, data analysis to inform pull-through tactics and contracting decisions, and Payor Hierarchy & Coverage data governance. This role is responsible for working with our formulary data vendor and all other pertinent business vendors. This position will develop and leverage automated, standard quality control processes and develop and maintain process documentation.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Knowledge of the payer and healthcare environment and related customers
Assist Payer and Formulary Governance team to implement reimbursement strategies designed to enable optimal drug plan coverage for Astellas products, including future products, in collaboration within business partners as needed
Analyze data, create reports, and provide to internal/external customers for assigned therapeutic area
Provide monthly and ad hoc reports using the appropriate tools and systems.
Anticipating payer landscape changes and collaborating proactively with field managers and Internal stakeholders to understand the impact to Astellas' business underlying data and assessing if business rules need to be changes
Document all recurring operational processes
Manage third-party vendors
Perform ad hoc analysis for Payer Customers (Internal and External) as requested; Communicate outcomes and make recommendations based on relevant findings
Organizational Context:
Ensure planned formulary vendor support and ad hoc
Quality and timeliness of operational support for sales teams and up to 10 markets based on feedback from key customers and cross-functional colleagues
Accurate and timely maintenance and communication of business rule applications
Internal stakeholders: Contracts and Pricing, Vsas, Sales, Marketing, Payer Team
External Stakeholders: Field representatives and managers, vendors
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business related field required
Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical or related business experience
Minimum 3 years of analytical experience that includes data analysis and reporting within the pharmaceutical or healthcare related industry
Knowledge of pharmaceutical reimbursement / market access strategy
Team oriented with the ability to work independently
Outstanding data analysis skills, including independent fact finding and ability to communicate outcomes and make recommendations based on findings
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization
Excellent organization skills. Proficiency in MS Office Products required, especially with Excel (experience with Excel macros is a plus)
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, and analytical skills
Experience utilizing QlikView to pull data, create dashboards and Reports, and do ad hoc analysis
Ability to travel as needed
Preferred:
Knowledge of sales data sources, e.g., Symphony Health IDV, MMIT and IQVIA Xponent®, and a general understanding of health insurance claims data source.
Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas a strong asset.
Experience with patient data preferred
Knowledge of and experience with evaluating various payer channels (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
