Astellas is announcing an Associate Manager Marketing opportunity in Northbrook, IL.
Purpose & Scope:
Collaborate with a set of cross functional colleagues and external vendors to provide brand leaders with a complete assessment of market insights for each assigned brand. Assist Brand Management in developing strategies and tactics that address strategic imperatives. Participate in implementation of plans identified to fulfill strategic success factors for assigned brands utilizing internal and external resources.
Assist in implementing the tactical brand plan by: leading initiative timelines, implementing marketing programs, managing and prioritizing project and process workload.
Run the development and review of marketing/sales materials (MAP).
Implement project metrics to gain insight for future action.
Participate as assigned in the Situation Analysis to ensure that critical factors identified by franchise directors are included.
Ensure that new changes in the healthcare environment are included in information gathered for action into strategic decisions.
Collaborate with cross functional departments (including sales and health systems) to maintain relationships with internal and external partners and recommend new ones for development.
Assist in the development of convention plans and KOL promotional programs.
Manage brand programs in entirety such as Speaker Programs.
Implement other support functions as assigned by marketing director.
Sales Budget: Directly impacted by Tactical implementation.
A and P Budget: Directly impacted by the efficient use of resources including vendors.
This is the foundational position in the marketing organization and is often considered a learning platform to brand leadership. This position learns by involvement in market research and tactical implementation, the most intricate aspects of pharmaceutical marketing that lead toward successful strategic choices. In this role the employee relies on collaboration for success and demonstrates it directly by the implementation of tactics that support the strategic plans. This position may report to an Associate or Director Marketing and will collaborate with colleagues from a variety of departments.
2+ years of related, meaningful experience (sales, sales training, market research, marketing operations, etc.)
Proven communication skills with scientific and other professionals.
A strong understanding of pharmaceutical/healthcare business principles and product commercialization.
2+ years' experience in a pharmaceutical industry related field, i.e. market research.
Willingness to travel (10% to 20%).
A bachelor's degree in a related science or business area.
Experience in marketing or selling a consumer or health care product.
Experience with Veeva Vault or other document management systems.
Proven experience in a scientific or other professional area.
