Astellas is announcing an Associate Learning Solutions Manager opportunity at their US Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL .

Purpose:

M&D Strategy and Operations is a leader in aligning functions across M&D organizations in areas with impact on quality management, process management; non-drug initiative management, including IT components, to support business strategy; business information and reporting and analytics; resource management and learning & development.

As an Associate Learning Solutions Manager, this position will be responsible for supporting the development of learning and change enablement solutions for projects within M&D, under direct supervision of a Learning Solutions lead. These projects are aligned with functional needs, process improvement projects, and the M&D Learning Strategy.

The position is responsible for assisting in the creation and deployment of learning deliverables and curricula as identified in collaboration with the Learning Solutions Lead and the business to ensure risk-managed solutions are implemented in a timely manner to support regulatory needs and enhance end user knowledge and skills.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Learning Support

  • Supports the development of functional learning solutions, including training materials, based on learning needs analysis and training effectiveness assessments, in cooperation with SMEs and support from a Learning Solutions lead

  • Design and develop learning solutions in multiple modalities (e.g. Virtual, Classroom, eLearning) with support from a Learning Solutions lead

  • Provide clear and concise communications to support project and training implementations that impact business colleagues and key stakeholders.

  • Support quality review and testing of course in the LMS.

Operations Support

  • Collaborate with LMS colleagues to ensure all training records are in adherence with applicable regulations and are inspection ready and provide training documentation/evidence in support of global and regional audits/inspections, as appropriate.

  • Create and deliver training related divisional metrics to all levels of leadership.

  • Supports the M&D Learning strategy and ensures the translation of the Learning strategy into role-based training curricula, training plans and training role matrices, identifying training needs of functional staff and other stakeholders outside of M&D (including functional service providers, PV responsible person in affiliates e.g. Drug Safety Officers and external consultants).

  • Supports operational logistics for virtual and classroom training sessions including pre and post-event activities, in collaboration with LMS Strategy team.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • May provide oversight and management of vendors or contractors working on a project as needed.

Organizational Context:

  • Reports to the Associate Director OR Director, Learning Solutions and operates in a matrix manner of leading and influencing without direct authority to effectively work with functional, cross-functional and cross divisional key stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences.

  • Pharmaceutical or related industry experience in a regulated environment required.

  • Team experience in a highly matrixed, multicultural global setting.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English, with an ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

  • Experience with corporate training (adult learning concepts and contemporary training methodologies. preferred), IT systems, and online training program functionalities.

  • Experience with establishing standards in support of the Learning System, especially as they impact and influence multiple departments and levels of management.

  • Demonstrated high level of competence with MS Office applications, with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to learn new systems and software rapidly.

  • Demonstrated competence with eLearning development tools, Articulate Storyline and/or Vyond preferred.

Preferred

  • Certification in training design and development or advanced degree (MA or related degree) preferred.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
