Purpose and Scope:

This position is responsible for identifying areas of opportunity and collaborating with internal and external parties to understand specific unmet needs and develop and test potential solutions that represent business opportunities and align with the Rx+ strategy. This position leads all processes and practices in a wide range of activities that are important in promoting Rx+ projects and contributes to achieving the milestones of Rx+ projects. This position has experience, knowledge, and networks in important fields in Rx+, and participate actively in internal and external activities for inputting new projects for Rx+ growth

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ideation

  • Identify areas of interest to create new business opportunities aligned with the Rx+ strategic direction and lead discovery initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners to understand unmet needs of various stakeholders

  • Generate novel solutions and search existing product in development or on market to assess potential partnership opportunities and select concepts with attractive business opportunities aligned with the Rx+ strategy.

  • R+ and BAP PJ management & Administration

  • Support or lead R+ project management and coordinate the activities with other divisions to ensure consistency, transparency, and integration, identifying opportunities for efficiency and collaboration.

  • Support the NBO head a) to identify opportunities for closer collaborations within Rx+BA and with other functions and manage the effective implementation of initiatives to support this goal, b) in preparing for and effectively representing Rx+ BA at internal and external activities and meetings

  • Lead all planning and execution of project creation activities, especially non-clinical studies for product/service creation and/or manufacturing for achieving the milestones of Rx+ projects.

  • Provide objective assessment of project creation activities, BAP proposals, projects in pre- and post-BAP, especially non-clinical studies for product/service creation and/or manufacturing, in Rx+ projects based on the scientific/technical expertise so as to assure scientific /technical quality and alignment with Rx+ strategies.

  • Participate actively in evaluation of external ideas, assets and opportunities based on the scientific/technical expertise, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and also participate in the scientific/technical review of Rx+ based licensing opportunities and provide due diligence for licensing opportunities.

  • Provide latest trends, insights, and advice based on the scientific/technical expertise to Head, BP, Business Development, commercial, strategic management members to assure quality scientific/technical inputs for their Rx+ activities.

  • Participate actively in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key scientific/technical opinion leaders related to the Rx+.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • This position is responsible for leading efforts to introduce at least 10 ideas and at least one new project into the Rx+ pipeline each year.

  • This position is accountable and responsible for effective and efficient leading all processes and practices in a wide range of activities that are important in promoting at least one Rx+ project each year.

  • Synchronize commercial, clinical, and medical processes to ensure strategic alignment with the Rx+ objectives.

  • Participate in cross-functional committees and achieve accountability of all Rx+ activities in assigned BAPs from their scientific/technical perspective.

Organizational Context:

  • This position reports on solid-line basis to Rx+ Executive Director, Head of New Business Opportunities

  • Communicate with Rx+ LTs, BPs, Rx+ managers and leaders of relevant non-clinical functions.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Rx+BA and in relevant non-clinical functions.



  • Minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in pharmaceuticals, medical, biotechnology, material science, medical devices, digital technology, data science.

  • Post graduate qualification such as MSc or Equivalent in scientific/technical field or MBA is highly desirable.

  • Deep Knowledge and network in a field of their expertise and understanding of cutting-edge scientific/technical trends and/or latest trends of business.

  • Proactive understanding of how to communicate with and present effectively to scientific/technical specialists and internal/external decision-makers worldwide.

  • Leadership presence; able to drive for results; operate tactically, team player and self-starter.

  • Collaborative skills to be able to work cross-functional and/or cross-sector and also understand the stakeholders globally
