Purpose and Scope:

The Associate Director, Resilience Management - Americas purpose, Under the Head of Resilience Management’s direction, is to provide support to Astellas’ Corporate Crisis and Business Continuity Management programs.

This position is responsible for managing and supporting business continuity management programs regionally with the purpose to proceed business impact analysis, develop/update BCP, conduct training and support ongoing crisis management. The incumbent will support the Head of Resilience Management in senior and strategic matters related to the direction of the function.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and supports the Business Continuity & Crisis / Incident Management program.

  • Responsibility to manage and operate the Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs including but not limited to support crisis response planning, monitoring and gathering crisis and incident matters, conducting Business Impact analysis, establishing Business Continuity planning and monitoring Business Continuity Management Activities for:

  • The divisions and the affiliates sites in Americas including US - Commercial profit centre, Medical & Development, Pharma-Tech, Research sites and corporate functions.

  • Lead role to manage and operate Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs for all Americas based facilities in collaboration with the relevant resilience management group members and divisional Corporate Risk Management Business Partners

  • Establish rapport and a positive working relationship with individuals of other functions entrusted with resilience management responsibilities regionally and globally.

  • Collaborates efficiently and effectively with individuals within the AMERICAS region and globally

  • Work with Internal Audit and Financial Compliance to satisfy internal and external audit requirements including J-SOX controls

  • Leads and supports strategic projects as required (AMERICAS and Global) and directed by the Head of Resilience Management

  • Support the Head of Resilience Management related to conducting business with division leaders and other senior individuals in the organization.

  • Manages consultancy resources effectively and efficiently

  • Performs job duties with minimal direction

  • Other such duties as may be reasonably required by the business.

Qualifications

Required

  • Business degree

  • At least five years of experience related to Business Continuity Management

  • In-depth experience in implementing, transforming, and managing Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs

  • Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organizational and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrable examples of ability to develop, coach and enable high performance teams and proactively promote best practice and knowledge sharing.

  • Proven ability to influence, (appropriately) challenge and engage diverse senior stakeholders.

  • Knowledge and understanding of key business and compliance issues within pharma and life science industry

  • Hands-on, cross-cultural experience

  • Experience in leading multi-functional, cross-cultural projects

  • Excellent understanding of crisis, incident management and internal control and well-developed commercial awareness

  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments

  • Fluent in written and verbal business English

  • Experience in implementing crisis Intelligence Technology solutions

Preferred

  • MBA

  • Experience in managing Enterprise Risk Management implementation and transformation projects

  • Proficiency in other European languages
