This position is based in Northbrook, Illinois, however remote work from certain states may be permitted in accordance with Astellas' Responsible Flexibility Guidelines. Candidates interested in remote work are encouraged to apply.

Purpose & Scope:

  • Responsible for contributing to strategic direction and implementing tactical project management activities for the XTANDI Global Product Strategy Team (GPST) and the XTANDI Core Commercial team (CCT).

  • Partners with the XTANDI Strategic Brand Marketing (SBM) Team and appropriate leaders from other functions to implement business processes in support of global product launches and growth strategies; provides project management logistical and tactical support to ensure management of risk and execution of activities along the critical path (strategic planning and operational plan execution)

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Plan, coordinate and participate in global commercial co-creation and planning activities for XTANDI ensuring appropriate cross-functional collaboration regarding logistics, attendance and outputs

  • Manage Legal and E&C iGBP review and approval process as well as upper management review

  • Plan and coordinate the iGBP dissemination to affiliates (live presentations on Teams + email communication)

  • Manage GPST activities and deliverables essential to strategy creation & execution and lifecycle management. Document meeting minutes, decisions made and action items during GPST meetings and communicate details to GPST Core and Extended Teams as appropriate

  • Ensure cross-functional integration of tasks and commitment to business objectives and goals

  • Coordinate XTANDI CCT (Core Commercial Team) meetings / meeting materials. Document meeting minutes, decisions made and action items and communicate to team as appropriate

  • Maintain team rosters, SharePoint site, and SharePoint access lists

  • Keep the XTANDI Brand Portal current with all meetings materials, promotional materials, news and articles, monthly leadership decks, etc.

  • Coordinate all activities related to Innovation

  • Responsible for preparing and submitting the monthly XTANDI Leadership deck to Senior Leadership

  • Work with functional leads to ensure timely submission of materials for approval (e.g., EC, SWIFT, etc.)

  • Travel and attend conferences as needed to support global activities such as Global Brand Planning activities, GPST meetings, global workshops, etc (within global travel policy guidelines)

  • Support specific projects as needed across the Oncology franchise

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Role has global remit

  • Role directly supports XTANDI and may include other responsibilities across oncology as needed

  • Role involves tracking core project deliverables and interacting with global commercial and other functional partners

Organizational Context:

  • This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP, GBL XTANDI and will work closely with the SBM PMs for Xospata, Padcev and Zolbetuximab

  • Collaborates with XTANDI GPST Leaders and Teams, other SBM Project Managers and the SBM teams for Xospata/ Padcev/Zolbetuximab

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years pharma industry (or related) experience, or Master's degree and at least 4 years pharma industry (or related) experience

  • At least 2 years' experience managing multiple strategic and tactical projects

  • Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization, able to empower and encourage team members to dedication levels

  • Ability to inspire and motivate during meetings and help teams being efficient and effective

  • Experience aligning operations activities to strategy across functions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Strong ability to be proactive in identifying and managing project-related issues

  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a global organization, both cross- functionally and cross-culturally

Preferred

  • PMP certification

  • Master's Degree, MS in Science or MBA or other Advance Degree

  • Experience with Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project, Clarizen, etc.)

  • Multidisciplinary project management experience within pharmaceutical industry

  • In-depth knowledge of global drug development and product lifecycle management processes

  • Working knowledge of key interfacing organizations (finance, development, marketing)
