Purpose and Scope:

The Associate Director, Corporate & Commercial purpose is to deliver Digital and IT Programs & Projects in support of Astellas Corporate Strategy for supported Function(s), establish relationships across IS and supported Business Functions to define business outcomes required and ensure appropriate assignment of Astellas Digital and IS investments.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan:

  • Responsible for establishing relationship with IS and Business demand management functions in order to define supporting Technology, change delivery strategy, alignment to Corporate Goals and delivery of required business value from Digital investments.

  • Responsible for determining Digital & IT portfolio and execution plan for responsible functional areas.

  • Responsible for establishing strategy and execution plan for delivery capabilities (internal and external partners) aligned to Portfolio demand. Responsible for forecasting and securing required financial and resource capacity & approvals to deliver on commitments.

  • Manage & Execute:

  • Responsible for managing project portfolio and assuring value of business outcomes delivered.

  • Responsible for managing IT delivery lifecycles including external delivery partners

  • Responsible for delivery of Enterprise Application Programs & Projects for supported business functions

  • Responsible for ensuring reliability of Technology change delivery, IT risk mitigation and compliance control.

  • Responsible for ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiency in delivering digital and IT solutions.

  • Develop resourcing strategies to optimize Program and Project delivery and provide effective delivery and financial governance and management for all phases of IT Programs & Projects delivery

  • Finance Management

  • Responsible for ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiency in delivering Digital & IT Solutions and services

  • Responsible for identifying, communicating, and monitoring IT investment, cost and value to business concerning the group

  • People & Organization Management

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing department

  • Responsible for management of IS contractors and 3rd parties for Enterprise Application portfolio as determined

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Organization: Manages resources as needed

  • Financials: Approximately $5-10 Million investment budget per year

  • Internal Clients: Business divisions of Corporate functions Working with senior leaders (Directors and above) in all global regions. IS Business Partner groups leadership & IS-GOV and VSM leadership teams.

  • Vendors: Manages multiple global, regional, and local vendors

Organizational Context:

  • Peer Group: Project & Programs Delivery Directors, Digital Business Solutions

  • Close collaboration with Business Leaders, IS DSP, IS Product managers

  • Close collaboration with IS Leadership & Department heads

  • Close collaboration with Program Leads & SME(s) of Major Software vendor(s), Digital/IS Service Provider(s) and Systems Integrators.

  • Program & Project delivery teams as determined

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business degree with a strong technical background

  • 5+ years of business/technology solutions architecture in Corporate & Commercial solutions and 5+ years’ experience with Program & Project management

Preferred

  • Experience Life Sciences Industry.

  • PMP and related certifications
