Astellas Pharma Associate Director, Operation Excellence - Veeva in Northbrook, Illinois

Astellas is announcing an Associate Director Operation Excellence - Veeva opportunity in Northbrook, IL or the UK. Purpose & Scope: The Associate Director, Operational Excellence is a core member of the Commercial COE team responsible for being the business owner for set and implementation of the Veeva CRM and Vault platforms in partnership with the IS team. The position will be responsible for roadmaps, improvements, implementation and effective steady state use of the Veeva CRM and Vault Platforms. This position ensures to partner with teams throughout Astellas to enable synergy with other (future) platforms and processes. Essential Job Responsibilities: Lead the creation of the short-term and long term roadmaps for Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault Platforms to ensure offering of effective solutions to meet the needs of our customer-facing colleagues and customers * Understand strategic needs of Astellas globally * Gather global business requirements in consultation with the affiliates and other global functions/teams * Pro-active research new trends / features / best practices and incorporate them in the roadmap after checking them against the strategic direction, affiliate needs and other global stakeholders. Support the improvement, implementation and effective use of Veeva CRM and Vault platforms * Structure, identify and prioritize the key business requirements across affiliates and across functions (e.g. commercial, medical, E&C etc. ) by implementing effective processes * Knows the status of all use cases and ensures all feedback is gathered and addressed * Provide strategies/recommendations for platform efficiency * Serve as a subject matter expert of the Veeva CRM and Vault platforms and associated business processes to all functions * Provide leadership and oversight regarding system and data governance and steady state performance of Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault * Ensure the highest quality learning material is available to to support implementation and onboarding of new employees Partner with other teams to ensure Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault platforms work in synergy with other (future) platforms and processes * Closely partner with IS system owner to ensure technical feasibility and standards to support agility in future enhancements and integrations * Closely partner with the Marketing & Marketing Capabilities teams to co-lead global marketing effectiveness initiatives * Closely partner with the Digital Teams to ensure Veeva CRM and Vault Platforms contribute to optimizing and executing digital strategies * Closely partner with the Insights teams for performance assessments and ROI metrics based on activity data. Support Global digital marketing ecosystem implementation and migration roadmap: * Work with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to gather, define and align on Global business and functional requirements * Manage multiple workstreams defining Global guidance, Ways of Working, KPI's and success criteria * Manage third party vendors * Support change management strategy and execution * Develop training program for new technology partnerships Organizational Context * Reports to Head of COE * Peer group: Operational Excellence teams globally, Digital Marketing Excellence team, Insights team, IS System Owner, Other platform owners * Scope: Support to entire global organization Qualifications: ., Americas, Europe and Japan) Required Education: * Bachelor degree. Work experience: * Combined 10+ years of experience in implementing and/using Veeva from a business perspective * Project management experience at Astellas, or 7 years project management in the industry. * 5+ years in pharma commercial and/or medical affairs * Experience with global enterprise platform integrations and migrations * Experience with global Veeva instances a plus * Multinational-experience a plus Skills, knowledge: * Experience within Healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry * Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously. * Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization, able to motivate and inspire team members to high performance levels * Proven decision-making and strategic thinking skills leading to successful outcomes * Demonstrated ability to present complex issues to higher level management and contribute to high level presentations and discussions * Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with team members, management and internal/external partners * Demonstrated ability to be a consistent high level contributor or leader of multiple projects, processes, or functions * Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams to deliver against common goals * Demonstrated experience influencing without authority * Proven track record of success being a high-level independent and team contributor to lead multiple project and processes * Experience working with teams / individuals with varied cultural backgrounds & learning styles * Ability to define, measure and track success criteria Preferred * Willingness to travel (approximately 10-20%) * Advanced degree, with experience in healthcare and/or pharmaceutical marketing * Demonstrated understanding or experience in commercial strategic and/or business planning and governance * Experience managing both internal and external resources (including remotely) * Past experience in cross-continent organization (e.g #LI-NB Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled Category Commercial Center of Excellence
