Purpose & Scope of Position:
Associate Director, Global Hardware Asset Management is to oversee and manage the organization's hardware assets on a global scale. This includes managing the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of hardware assets such as computers, servers, network gear, smart phones, and other electronic devices. The main goal is to ensure that the organization's hardware assets are used effectively and efficiently, and that they are in compliance with regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization's hardware assets are well-maintained and that they support the organization's goals and objectives. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing the budget for hardware assets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing policies and procedures for managing hardware assets globally
Tracking and reporting on hardware assets, including inventory levels, location, and status
Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers of hardware assets
Overseeing the deployment and maintenance of hardware assets, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to hardware assets
Managing the budget for hardware assets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Coordinating with other departments and teams to ensure hardware assets are being used effectively and efficiently
Overseeing the disposal of hardware assets in an environmentally responsible manner.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive hardware asset inventory management system
Managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation and records on all hardware assets
Collaborating with other departments and teams to ensure that hardware assets are properly configured and optimized for their intended use
Managing and overseeing the hardware-related aspects of projects and initiatives.
Identifying and implementing new technologies and best practices to optimize hardware asset management processes.
Continuously monitor the performance of hardware assets and take corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, information technology, or engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hardware asset management role
Strong knowledge of hardware asset management best practices, processes, and technologies
Experience with hardware asset inventory management systems and tools
Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with hardware procurement and vendor management
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to hardware assets
Ability to manage and analyze large sets of data
Experience with budgeting and financial management.
Experience with ITIL, ITAM framework and knowledge of ITIL practices are plus.
Strong understanding of IT security and data protection best practices.
Preferred
Professional certification in hardware asset management, such as the Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) or the Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
ITIL Foundation certification
Experience with IT Asset Management software and tools Such as ServiceNow, SNOW Software or Flexera.
Knowledge of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT
Experience with IT governance and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOX
Strong understanding of IT security and data protection best practices.
Knowledge of IT procurement processes and contract management.
Experience with data analytics and visualization tools
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components and technologies.
Familiarity with IT service management software such as ServiceNow.
