Preclinical Research Scientist II
As a member of the Diagnostics and Therapeutics Development team, the Preclinical Research Scientist II will support active oncology and immunology research projects. This role will leverage basic research knowledge and skills to support research activities aimed at further characterizing our novel therapeutic effects and testing the functionality and safety of our novel devices in large and small animal models. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Responsibilities
Perform a broad set of bioelectronic medicine activities, from optimizing surgical procedures for chronic animal models to the design and testing of stimulation paradigms
Work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to examine opportunities for further characterizing and optimizing therapeutic effects
Maintains in-depth scientific knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas
Collects, analyzes, and communicates data collected from preclinical studies
Be a highly self-motivated individual contributing to and leading various bioelectronic medicine activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years research experience in biology, oncology, or immunology
Experience with molecular and/or cell-based assays or histopathology
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable with the scientific process, from experimental design to data synthesis
Willingness to learn various subdomains related to the project at hand
Willing to travel frequently for activities at external sites
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field (e.g. – Biology, Oncology, Immunology, Pathology) with 4+ years of research experience
Experience in independently optimizing experimental methods and assays
Experience working in interdisciplinary environments and building relationships with key external partners
Experience with data analysis and visualization using software packages such as JMP, LabView, MATLAB, or Python
Salary Range:
$115k -125k (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
